It's Halloween!

And for me, that means dressing up like a pirate. Or maybe just dressing up my characters as pirates... Here's an excerpt from one of my stories in Secret Thoughts 2, edited by Sasha White and coming December 4 from Samhain.

Man Ho
By Laura Bacchi

I looked up from my laptop and tried to digest what Devon had just asked.

“You want me to do what?”

“Be a pirate,” he said. “All work and no play makes Josh a dull boy.”

“A pirate?”

“Yes.”

“This weekend?”

Devon laughed and leaned in close. He was still wet from his shower. I put a finger on his beautiful bronze chest to catch a drip and rub it over his skin. I could use a break—writing this goddamn dissertation was killing me—so I trailed my finger lower and hooked it into the towel barely covering his crotch.

“No.” He caught my hand and grinned. “I want you to be a pirate every weekend, Josh. But you already know that.”

“You didn’t mention your pirate fetish when you placed that ad.” I turned back to my work and made a mental note to surf the net for pirate gear tonight. An eye patch and a goofy hat or two might keep him quiet for a while…

He kissed my neck. “I didn’t think an ad would turn into something permanent.”

Neither had I, but I was glad it had. I stopped typing and leaned my head back to stare into his sexy gray eyes. The track lighting above shone down on his clean-shaven head. He had the look—thick chest, goatee, a couple of tats in all the right places. Yeah, he’d make a great pirate. And I’d indulge this little fantasy of his just to keep him happy.

“All right, matey,” I said. “Wanna go shopping this weekend?”

“No. We’re going to a pirate festival this weekend. I already bought your clothes.”

“A festival?” I closed my eyes so he wouldn’t see me roll them. “You mean I have to wear a costume in front of actual people?”

“They’ll be dressed up too.” He was on his knees now.

I found that position very hard to resist. So I turned to him. Unzipped my fly and gave my cock a few quick jerks.

“How bad do you want this, Devon?”

“I always want this.” He was staring at my erection.

“I meant the whole pirate thing.”

“Bad, Josh. I want you dressed in silks…” He gave my head a lick and pleasure rolled through me. “…And tight breeches and boots.”

“Then show me.”

He sucked me in to the balls and did just that. And he did it so well I was practically begging for silly ruffled shirts and a parrot on my shoulder before he was through.

* * * *

On Saturday morning, I stood cringing at my reflection in the mirror. “I don’t look like a pirate,” I said.

Devon did, though. And a damned fine pirate at that. He came up behind me and reached down to cup my dormant cock through the tightly laced spandex. Hot blood rushed through my veins and soon a hard-on filled his hand. He lifted my frilly shirt and traced my shaft through the shiny pants.

“Now you look like a pirate.” He nipped my neck. “Pirates should always look horny.”

“I have an idea.”

He locked eyes with me in the mirror and cocked an eyebrow.

“Let’s stay in,” I said. “We can play pirate here. You can unsheathe my sword and swallow it and then I can—”

“Nope.” His hand left my groin and grabbed my arm. “We’re going before you chicken out.”

He clapped a wig onto my short hair and took off my glasses.

“Good,” I said. “Now I can’t see everyone laughing at me.”

Devon kissed me quiet and off we went to the crowded park where apparently every soul still living out his (and her) childhood fantasy gathered to talk like a pirate, dress like one, and drink lots of beer. I liked the beer part. Devon preferred to shop and play games. And watch me. Even without my glasses I knew he was playing out scenarios in his head. It was only a matter of time before he pirated me away—pun intended—and ravished me in a hidden cove, or something along those lines. My shaft grew hard for a second time that day, and I took to caressing his ass when no one was looking.

“Watch out, Josh. Some kid might see us and—”

“No one’s watching. Stop being so paranoid.”

Devon lowered his voice. “He’s watching.”

I looked around and spotted a man staring at us. But before I could mouth the words “Fuck off,” the watcher grinned.

“Maybe he just wants to plunder your booty,” I joked.

“Maybe I’d let him.”

My hand gripped Devon’s ass so hard he jumped. My heart pounded in double-time. About a month ago, I’d talked about me watching him get fucked by someone else, but he never warmed up to the idea. So I’d backed off. Maybe today—or maybe because I’d indulged his fantasy—he’d consider giving mine a try...

Trust me, Josh is gonna love the whole pirate thing by the end of the story ;)

I'll be blogging every other Wednesday here at Slash & Burn, so be on the look-out for more tasty nibbles or other ramblings. If you like pirate tales, check out my Free Reads page for a short story called Captain Jack Goes Straight (Well, Sort Of...). Have a Happy Halloween!

Something to ward off the chill...

I've been really busy this weekend doing edits for my upcoming M/M/F release, Bonded Hearts.
Today is the release of my book, Testing Passion. But it's not M/M so I won't go into that (but it's available at http://www.phaze.com/ ;) )
Meanwhile, I have my Christmas themed M/M story, enWrappture, being released Nov. 19th at Phaze as part of their Frost Heatsheet line. This is a follow-up book of my character Christopher who readers met in my Valentine themed book, At The Edge (also available at Phaze)

So here's a little peek...

We first meet young, charming, and sexy Christopher O’Malley on Valentine’s Night in New York City helping his friends Michael and Todd complete their most hidden fantasies. This night helped Christopher create his own flights of imagination where love and bondage were once just a passing fancy, along with an erotic BDSM book series written by Master Stafon.

Spending the Christmas holiday on the east coast, Christopher finds himself without family or friends. That is until he meets little Emily, her mother Devyn and her uncle Mason…a writer whose pen name is Master Stafon.

Christopher is instantly attracted to Mason, even before he discovers the man’s profession. As Christmas draws near, the holiday looks more appealing as Mason gives Christopher the opportunity of a lifetime. To experience some bondage play first hand. Could this be the gift that keeps on giving?

Excerpt:

“Tell me, Christopher.” Mason faced him, hip leaning against the counter. “Who is it that intrigues you the most? Me, Mason Romero or Master Stafon?”

Christopher stared into his deep chocolate eyes, falling further into their grasp. His lust spiked higher, his blood heating. He had the greatest urge to fall to his knees and worship Mason’s body. To have those striking long fingers touch him, run through his hair, scratch at his scalp. He shivered with exhilaration.

“Would you be offended if I said both?” His voice was deep with arousal.

Mason moved closer, the corner of his lip twitching, amused. “No, actually it pleases me.”

“It…it does?” Christopher was surprised. Was Mason actually interested in him?

Mason leaned closer, there was only an inch between their mouths. The scent of brewing coffee mingled with Mason’s spicy cologne. Christopher’s nose had never smelt a better scent. It made his body tingle and his cock twitch.

“Yes, Christopher.” Mason closed the distance and brushed his lips ever so softly over Christopher’s. “However, Master Stafon is just a character. I admit, he’s a part of me, but not all of who I am.”

“I understand that.” Christopher swallowed hard.

“And I’d be pleased to show you my dungeon. But only if you are willing to play. What do you say? Do you think you could handle me?”

Christopher was speechless, his throat working, trying to find his voice. His nerve endings were jumping with excitement, his imagination running wild. He gave up and just nodded his response.

Mason chuckled and moved away. His lips curved into a smile of unspoken promises of pleasure. “Let’s see if you can, Christopher.”

Computers, deadlines, and sexy as sin actors.

What a subject, eh?

Still recovering from having to reformat my hard drive and reinstall Windows yesterday. Lost all my bookmarks (though I saved some research links in a file several days ago). Sucks, damn it.

But there are some good things in life...

Like not having any looming (contracted) deadlines! Now, there are a couple deadlines I'd like to meet, but they aren't contracted.

And...Sweeney Todd. Johnny Depp as Sweeney Todd, to be exact. Have y'all seen the previews??? GUH.

I've got my nose to the grindstone working on my holiday m/m novella that's due this to my editor this Friday. I'm actually having trouble coming in under 15,000 words because the characters seem to have a lot to say! Not to mention a lot of sex to have.

More details to follow in the next couple of months, of course. :D

In other news, since Viva Laughlin tanked so spectacularly, The Amazing Race will be back on Sunday, November 4th. Is anyone else a fan? I can't wait to meet all the new teams after the disappointment of the all-star edition.

Sizzling new cover!

The artwork for my December release with Loose ID, Pyromancer, is finally here and I couldn't be happier with it. April Martinez did a fabulous job!

I should have a sneak peek of this one ready for you all soon. *g*

Hot gay subject of the week

WARNING FOR THIS POST AND ANY FOLLOWING COMMENTS: POSSIBLE HARRY POTTER SPOILERS, ESPECIALLY FOR BOOK 7
.
.
.
.
.
.
.

Still with me? Okay.

For those who haven't heard yet, J.K. Rowling has announced that Dumbledore is, in fact, gay.
(click here to read the story on Yahoo)
I don't know about y'all, but I wondered about this possibility when I was reading The Deathly Hallows. I remember thinking, okay, either ol' Albus is ming-bogglingly stupid (which seemed unlikely), or he is TOTALLY stuck on Grindelwald.

All right, so my hopes of Harry and Draco ever having had a mad schoolboy fling are totally dashed, as I'm sure Jo wouldn't put more than one not-totally-straight character in her books. Nevertheless, I find this a fascinating development. What do y'all think? You reckon she had this in mind all along, or did it come to her later, as any author knows can happen with even the most well-known of their characters? Do you think Dumbledore's doomed love for his rival is what ultimately drove him to defeat Grindelwald? Do you think it had any bearing on any of his subsequent actions? Or do you think it's an interesting and tragic but ultimately irrelevant-to-the-story detail of his life?

Come on, let's have a Potterverse Dork discussion here :-B

Random Rambling

It is mid October in PA and today is such a humid warm day that I'm tempted to throw on the AC. By this time next week I'll probably be wearing two layers of clothing and cursing the cold. Gotta love the weather in the northeastern US.

Or not. -_-

Our good friend Silapa Jarun
got a most awesome review from the nefarious Mrs. Giggles. ...I just wish the story has been longer because I really find Ono Suzue a most magnetic bad boy to remember...

If you like solid history in your historicals and your bad boys
really bad then by all means fork over the mere buck and a quarter and give the first installment of Ono Suzue: A Man of Talent in the Meiji Era a try.

My Muse has deserted me
when I need it most *whiiiiine* I'm about 4,000 words away from the end of a very very cool smexy historical and Anne and I have to get the final few chapters of our Soul of the Night sequel in. And there are a couple other WIPs begging to be written but as I said my Muse has buggered off probably because I'm too broke to buy tasty snacks to keep him happy...*ugh*

And while I'm waiting for some gentle reader to Fed Ex me some nice Cheddar to go with my whine I may as well lament the fact that it looks like I won't be able to attend the 2008 RT convention even though it's literally 15 min away from my house. I wonder if I could get away with hanging out in the lobby with a name tag that says I'm a pathetic local author be my friend :P

And people think writers lead such glamorous lives. *insert hysterical laughter here*

Another Los Angeles Moment

There are things you can only do because you're in Los Angeles. One of them, which I did this week, was get to attend the season three red carpet premier of Dante's Cove. Now, granted, it wasn't at the Kodak Theater with a red carpet a mile long, but it was fun. And there was a red carpet. There were stars and press and directors.

I met Director Randal Kleiser of Grease Fame. Cassandra Peterson, who mortals know as Elvira Mistress of the Dark, was there (beautiful woman btw). Tracey Scoggins, Gregory Michael and Jenny Shimizu model and actress. Sat behind Chad Allen and right next to Charlie David (who plays Toby on Dante's Cove).

The show itself...well, it's a GLBT soap opera along the Twin Peaks model. Really it is, supernatural stuff and romance angst...and sex. Soft core sex but on screen. So, be prepared. Lots of eyecandy. Sexy men and women, one bisexual character -Griff (Jensen Atwood, of Noah's Ark fame) - abound. The only full frontal you'll get is from the extras, but hey they pick nice looking extras. Plot wise, acting wise, meh.

I aslo got to attend the after party. Not many of the actual cast there (they probably had thier own little parties). Crowded as all hell. Two couples (female) were bitching about the line at the bar. A guy turned around and told them that they were in a Gay bar, women get no priorty, it's everyone for themselves. Pretty much summed it up. Picked up our goodie bags with the Dante's Cove briefs in 'em and bailed over to the Abbey for a bit.

New Release: Candy Man

Since there appears to be an empty hole in the blog schedule, I thought I would pop by and share an excerpt of my new short story with you all. Enjoy!

Candy Man
By Amanda Young

After a night of catering to trick-or-treaters, Aaron’s ready to kick back and unwind. But his lover Logan’s sweet tooth is about to derail his plans. Treat yourself to an erotic interlude with the characters of Man Candy.

© Amanda Young, October 2007All Rights Reserved

Logan had disappeared upstairs earlier, after complaining for the umpteenth time about the uncomfortable cowboy outfit Aaron had talking him into wearing. Not that Aaron felt even slightly guilty about making his lover don skintight jeans, a pair of sexy-as-hell chaps, and a cowboy hat. The man was built like a brick shithouse and nothing showed off Logan’s muscles more than tight jeans and a snug black T-shirt. The only thing better was Logan dressed in nothing but his skin. Unfortunately, having Logan wear his birthday suit while handing out Hershey bars didn’t seem like the best idea, even if the thought had crossed his mind a time or ten while they’d been out shopping for costumes. If nothing else, it sure as hell would have livened up an otherwise boring evening.
Aaron’s dick perked up and twitched inside the constrictive tights he had on under the Batman bodysuit and he briefly considered looking for his lover. The thought of catching Logan undressed, his beautifully rugged body on full display, and pouncing on the man held a lot of appeal, but Aaron quickly dismissed it. At the moment, all he wanted to do was slump down on the sofa and see what was on television.
But first, he needed to get rid of the spandex trying to squeeze his balls off. He tugged and pulled at the tight material, breathing out a deep sigh of relief as the bodysuit dropped to the floor and he stepped out of it. The tights were a bigger pain in the ass, pun intended, and wound up getting ripped down the middle in his hurry to take the damn things off.
I should have picked a more comfortable outfit.
The only reason he’d chosen the Batman theme was because he liked the way the tight fit made Logan’s nostrils flare ever so slightly and his dark eyes spark with lust. Even after living in each other’s back pockets for almost four months, the electrifying chemistry they shared still sometimes came as a shock to him. Logan was just so damn hot; it was hard for Aaron to believe someone so charismatic would fall in love with a geek like him. Not that Logan allowed Aaron a second to doubt their relationship. His lover was nothing if not consistent in the small things he did every day to remind Aaron that he cared. Aaron’s own feelings had snowballed beyond the point of love, sometimes feeling so big he could hardly contain them. The need he felt for Logan hadn’t dissipated one iota. If anything, it had only gotten stronger as they’d grown closer, learning all the ins and outs of private life with each other.
Aaron stepped over the heap of shiny black material -- figuring he could clean up his mess later, when he got ready to go upstairs -- and moved toward the couch. Cool air wafted over his bare skin, goose bumps popping up on his arms and legs as he made his way to the sofa. He flopped down on one end and dragged the comfy blue afghan off the back, spreading it out over the lower half of his body. With his back propped up against the arm of the couch and his legs stretched out across the length of the couch, Aaron picked up the remote and began flipping through the channels.
All the stations played horror movies on Halloween and he hated that he’d missed out on most of the good ones. When he came across the original Friday the 13th, he stopped and settled back to watch. Hopefully, Logan would come looking for him soon and they could snuggle and make out during the commercial breaks.
Aaron’s eyelids grew heavy as he watched Jason chase a topless blonde on screen. His lips twisted into a wry smile, thinking about how silly it was for some woman to run around naked in the middle of the woods. Who came up with this crap anyway?
The floorboards overhead creaked, quickly followed by the sound of Logan jogging down the steps. “Aaron?”
“In here,” Aaron called out, sitting up a little straighter, waiting for his lover to come into view.
Logan appeared in the doorway, his wide chest gloriously bare and a pair of light gray sweats hanging low on his lean hips. “Hey, babe. All finished with candy duty? Did you run out? Cause I think we still have another bag in the kitchen.”
Aaron’s gaze traveled down his lover’s body to his bare feet before returning to the sizable bulge tenting out the front of the cotton pants. He licked his lips, his mouth suddenly filled with moisture. His cock jerked and began to fill, the nubby fabric of the afghan rubbing over the sensitive crown. Amazing how all it took was one look and he was ready to roll over and beg. “Yep. Done with the handing out, I mean. There’s still some leftover chocolate in the bowl, if you want it. I just got tired of handing it out.”
Logan strode across the room and leaned down for a kiss. Their mouths touched, soft and sweet, and Aaron whimpered. He slipped his tongue out and flicked it over the silky seam between Logan’s lips. Logan’s tongue met Aaron’s with a quick warm and wet tap, and then his lover pulled away.
“So, where’s the candy? I have a bit of a sweet tooth tonight.”
“Mmm,” Aaron replied, trying to remember where he’d put the bowl, as he ran the back of his fingers over the hard outline of Logan’s dick. “You have to say trick or treat first.”
Logan grinned. “Trick or treat. Give me something good to eat…” His singsong voice broke off as he cracked up, chuckling at the childish song.

Pleasant surprise

I am currently reading Fairyville by Emma Holly. It was recommended by a friend who knew how much I love reading M/M fiction (not that I didn't already read EH ;) - loved her book Menage).
However, reading the blurb, would you have guessed that this book had a M/M relationship?

Zoe Clare is a medium who has no trouble communicating with the dead—or with real live fairies, for that matter! But she can't seem to get her feelings across to her landlord-slash-manager Magnus Monroe, Fairyville, Arizona's most eligible bachelor. She's tired of his erotic antics with every woman in town but her. So when her high school flame returns to town, Zoe is more than a little vulnerable to his charms. How Alex broke herheart is a scandal no one in Fairyville has forgotten. But even if Zoe isn't ready to forget, she's willing to forgive. The rules they're about to break will bring out the jealousy in Magnus—and the astounding truth.

A menage possibly comes to mind, but not that one of the main characters would be bi-sexual.(I don't want to ruin the story or the twists that are coming along with every chapter)
Then I found quite a few comments on Amazon about how readers enjoyed the story but the M/M scenes really weren't their 'cup of tea' and wished that they'd known about them. (and let me tell you that the sex scenes are graphic and wonderfully done *drool* )

Now, I'm only half way through the book (won't take me but another day to finish it at this rate) but have absolutely no complaints about it. Mainly because I was aware of the gay scenes and eager to read this book (so far it's hinting around to a possible menage or more *eyebrows waggling*)

My question to you...Do you feel that not informing the readers about same sex sex scenes deceitful? Do you think it would gain or lose readers? Or perhaps have no effect at all? Have you as a reader come across other books that have done this?

I just thought it was an interesting situation and wanted to know how others would feel.

Heh

Nope, I didn't forget. LOL

We had an awesome thunderstorm last night/early this morning, and it woke me and the kids up at 5am. I don't normally get up until 6:30. Was a great storm, though. Lots of LOUD thunder and lightning. We don't get many storms around here because we're so close to the ocean, so it was cool.

Been bustin' my butt on meeting a Torquere deadline. I can do it, just need to buckle down and get movin'.

So, y'all ready for Halloween? I sure as hell am. And I've been recording/watching ghost shows and horror movies left and right.

So, what's your favorite part about October?

Soap opera addiction!

Okay, I know my last blog post here was about the same subject, but this Luke/Noah storyline on As the World Turns has eaten my poor wee brain. I'm completely mesmerized by this tale of young love. Like any other soap couple (more on that in a minute), they're going to have to weather the storms of homicidal fathers and life-threatening injuries that require serious yet completely unspecific surgeries. (Hey, it doesn't matter what they're operating on -- all we need to know is that it's bad!)

So, are Luke and Noah really going to be treated like any other couple by the writers? So far they have been, for the most part, but two edited scenes are raising eyebrows amongst "Nuke" fans. Aside from another kiss that was apparently filmed and not used, the couple's second kiss was really about five seconds longer than the version that aired. Unedited version is here. (Let me just rewatch it a few times for purely...scientific reasons. Yes, scientific.)

There are rumours that show owner Procter and Gamble is unhappy with the storyline, but considering it's giving ATWT more new viewers and buzz than any other storyline is, you'd think P&G would be thrilled. I suppose time will tell. I'll leave you with this adorable picture of the two actors, Van Hansis and Jake Silbermann.

Hotlanta!

I just got back from Atlanta, and I'm sorry to say I didn't get to see much. But what I did see was quite yummy... Men looking sharp in their expensive suits, their friendly nods and smiles as my co-worker and I passed by.

We erotic writers spend our days and nights describing the perfect male specimen (at least for that particular WIP), and we often post eye candy. But seeing a perfect man in the flesh this past week was a strange experience for me. Usually I don't go for a pretty boy type with features obviously crafted by some angel-artist before this gorgeous creature was born. I like 'em rugged. A little hint of five-o'clock shadow or a goatee. This guy had no facial hair. His eyes were hazel. The airport was crowded, but when I saw him I stopped. Everything stopped. My breathing, my heart. He was that hot. My first thought (when I got my brain back) was would he think it rude if I asked to take his photo. But it was too late. He (and his equally gorgeous gal pal) moved past. Our eyes did meet for a second, and I truly hope he took my look/gawk/stare for what it was: utter admiration. For his parents' genes or for that angel I spoke of earlier.

Next time I visit Atlanta, the camera stays around my neck at all times. I don't want to miss this kind of opportunity again.

So that was the good news. The bad is that Gaylaxicon 2007 was happening at the same time as my work conference so I couldn't attend. Did anyone happen to go? One panel was "What's Love Got to Do With It?: Do We Need All This Romance Cluttering Up Our SF/Fantasy/Horror?" I wonder how that one went.

What Hides Inside in print!

This October is an exciting month for me and my Bay City Paranormal Investigations series (Samhain Publishing). Book three of the series, Twilight, comes out October 30th (y'all will get an excerpt from that one on my next blog day *g*). Book two of the series, What Hides Inside is being released in print on the 25th of this month. In honor of its upcoming print release, here's a shamelessly smutty excerpt from What Hides Inside.

WARNING FOR XXX MANSEX! Enjoy :D

Sam Raintree’s life changed forever when he started his dream job with Bay City Paranormal Investigations. In one fateful week, he learned he was psychic, discovered he possessed the power to open interdimensional portals, and accidentally let loose a horror like he’d never imagined. He also began a relationship with his boss, Dr. Bo Broussard, a man who’d been in the closet all his life.

Now, three months later, the burden of secrets has become too heavy for a fragile relationship to bear. Bo isn’t ready to come out, and Sam is tired of hiding. When Bo hires a new investigator, Dean Delapore, Sam is intrigued in spite of himself. Dean is bisexual, attractive, and very interested in Sam.

During the intense investigation of South Bay High School, from which three students have mysteriously disappeared, Sam and Dean draw closer together, while Bo pushes Sam away despite their feelings for one another. When the investigation erupts and Sam comes face-to-face with his worst nightmare, he has to decide whether to fight for Bo’s love, or let him go.

(© Copyright 2007 Ally Blue)

They moved at the same time, mouths fusing together in a hard, desperate kiss. Sam cupped Bo’s head in one hand, using the other arm to pull their bodies together. He tilted his head to deepen the kiss, swallowing Bo’s soft little moans. Bo clutched him close, one hand fisted in his hair and the other sliding down to knead his ass.

“God, Sam,” Bo breathed. “I need you.”

Electricity surged through Sam’s veins. “Anything. Anything you want.”

“Let’s make love.”

The raw need in Bo’s voice made Sam’s chest tight. “Are you sure? I don’t want you to feel like you have to do anything you don’t really want.”

Bo’s lips brushed Sam’s jaw. “I’ve wanted this for a long time, but I was afraid.” He pressed closer, the unmistakable evidence of his arousal digging into Sam’s thigh. “I’m not afraid anymore. I’m ready.”

The thought of making love to Bo was enough to bring Sam achingly erect in the space of a heartbeat. He kissed Bo again, very gently, hands stroking down Bo’s back. “I’ll make it good for you. I promise.”

“I know.” Bo groaned when Sam’s hand slipped between his legs, tracing his hardness through the worn denim. “Just…let’s go slow, okay? I’ve never… No one’s ever done that, I haven’t even…touched myself that way.”

The fact that Bo was willing to bottom for him made Sam’s head swim. As much as he wanted it, though, he wanted something else more.

“Maybe another time,” Sam whispered. “Right now, I need you inside me.”

A shudder ran through Bo’s body. “Jesus.” He leaned against Sam’s chest, his heart pounding so hard Sam could feel it. “Take me to bed, before I fall down.”

Taking Bo’s hand, Sam led the way to the bedroom. His insides churned with a mix of desire and nervousness. He’d never been this anxious to please a lover. It’s being in love for the first time, he thought as he pulled Bo into his arms again. It changes everything.

Bo’s palms slid inside Sam’s T-shirt. “Get undressed, Sam. Let me see you.”

Obediently, Sam peeled his shirt off and threw it on the floor. Taking hold of the hem of Bo’s sweater, Sam lifted it, nudging Bo’s arms up so he could take it off. Once the garment was out of the way, Sam ran his hands over Bo’s chest, thumbs catching on his hard little nipples. “God, you’re gorgeous, Bo.”

Bo groaned. His hips rolled against Sam’s. “Pants. Off.”

“Yeah.”

Sam removed his own jeans first, wanting to put Bo at ease. Bo’s gaze raked down Sam’s body, hot and wanting. Reaching down, Bo yanked off his battered running shoes then started to undo his jeans. His hands shook. Staring into Bo’s eyes, Sam saw a lifetime of unfulfilled need, overlaid with a sheen of fear. He knew that fear, had felt it himself the first time he had sex with another man. Fear of the unknown, of something he’d been taught to believe was wrong. He didn’t want to see that look in Bo’s eyes. Sam was determined Bo would never again associate sex with anything but joy and pleasure and love.

“Don’t be afraid,” Sam murmured, never looking away from Bo’s wide eyes. Gently moving Bo’s hands out of the way, Sam flipped the button of his jeans open and slid the zipper down. “I’m going to take care of you.” He pushed Bo’s pants slowly down over his hips, leaning in for a feather-light kiss. “If you want to stop, just say so. We don’t have to do anything you’re not comfortable with.”

Bo gasped through parted lips when Sam’s fingers traced up his shaft. “Oh…”

Nudging Bo backward, Sam lowered him onto the edge of the bed. He tugged the jeans the rest of the way off and tossed them aside, and Bo was naked, finally, bare and vulnerable to Sam’s gaze. Sam pushed Bo’s knees apart and knelt between his open legs. Bo’s cock twitched against his belly, thick and dark and already leaking, making Sam’s mouth water. Bending down, Sam brushed his lips across the head, tongue snaking out to taste.

“Oh!” Bo cried, hips jerking. “God, Sam…”

Dipping his head, Sam nuzzled Bo’s balls, breathing deep to savor the scent of Bo’s arousal. “You have no idea how much I’ve wanted to do this.” Sam stroked Bo’s thighs, loving the way the caramel-colored skin quivered at his touch. “How many times I’ve dreamed about sucking your cock.”

Bo whimpered and spread his legs farther apart. “Please. God, please.”

That was all the invitation Sam needed. He slid his lips over the tip of Bo’s prick and down, swallowing him to the root.

“Ah! Oh God.” Falling back onto the mattress, Bo thrust his hips up, shoving his cock down Sam’s throat in one swift, sharp motion. Not that Sam minded. He was perfectly happy to relax his muscles and let Bo fuck his mouth.

Before long Bo was writhing on the bed, legs flung wide and knees bent up, hands buried in Sam’s hair. His complete lack of inhibition came as a pleasant surprise to Sam, who’d expected to have his work cut out for him breaking through Bo’s reserve.

When he felt Bo’s shaft swell and pulse in his mouth, Sam pulled off with a pop. Raising his head, he grinned at Bo, who gaped at him in silent astonishment.

“D-don’t stop,” Bo gasped, trying to push Sam’s head back down. “So close, please.”

Sam pressed a soft kiss to the inside of Bo’s thigh. “Let me rim you.”

Bo’s eyelids fluttered, his cheeks going wonderfully pink. “Oh Christ.”

“I’ll take that as a yes.”

Rising to his feet, Sam moved up and gave Bo a long, lazy kiss, letting his lover come down a bit. When he felt some of the tension run out of Bo’s body, he pulled back and settled on the floor between Bo’s parted knees. He pushed Bo’s legs up and just stared for a minute, licking his lips. Bo’s hole clenched and relaxed as he watched, as if inviting him in. It was more than Sam could resist. He spread Bo open and flicked his tongue over the dusky pink skin.

“Fuck, you taste amazing,” Sam declared, taking another taste. “Gonna tongue-fuck you ‘til you come.”

“Oh my God,” Bo moaned, fingers bunching the covers as Sam’s mouth closed over his hole. “Oh fuck, I’ve never… Oh… So good, Sam, yes…”

Sam bent happily to his task, spurred on by Bo’s increasingly loud moans and half-formed pleas for more. Humming his pleasure, Sam worked Bo’s hole relentlessly until the tight muscles began to relax. As soon as Bo was loose enough, Sam stabbed his tongue inside and wrapped a hand around Bo’s cock.

“Fuck!” Bo cried, pushing his ass against Sam’s face. “Oh God, Sam.”

That’s it, Sam thought, wriggling his tongue deeper as he fisted Bo’s cock. Come for me.

Getting the Men Right

I recently received a review for my book Riding Partner where I received what I perceive as one of the best compliments I could receive from a male reader. I got the men "right." (You can read the full review here if you'd like.) Because to be honest, one of my worst fears in writing M/M romance is that the men come across as women with penises.
Guys don't think like women do. And maybe I have my growing up years where I was the only girl with two other guys in the Talented and Gifted group. Or maybe it's because I'm a sf geek at heart, and so I play with our local science fiction society. I even join in on the boffo sword fighting, because it's fun to try and beat each other up with pvc pipe wrapped with foam insulation and covered with duct tape. DIY shows are my heaven, and I could wander around a hardware store/lumber yard as easily as a book store. I'm a tomboy and proud of it. But even so, the way I think isn't the way guys think.
So my partner gets to bear my questions. "Honey, if you were in this situation, blah blah blah, how would you react?" "Honey, what do you think about this?" And so on. Luckily he's a writer too so understands the writer's curiosity and the writer's mind.
Even in heterosexual romance I want to make sure the men are, well, men. But when it comes to writing homosexual romance, with two guys, I want to make sure they're both guys, you know? Because two men finding love is infinitely sexy.

Sharing some news

Wanted to pop in and let you Kiyoshi & Ryuhei fans know that our sequel to Soul of the Night has been contracted by Samhain. We're calling it Lost Souls.

A chuckle to get the weekend started right...

This week has been long. Make that loooooong, though not in a totally bad way. :) But it makes me appreciate that the weekend is just around the corner and I might actually have some time to *gasp* get some writing done and finish a couple of art projects that have me tanked. Woo hoo!

And to help start off the weekend right, I poked around YouTube and found this clip from an old SNL ep -- cute and funny!

The West Hollywood Book Fair

This past Sunday I worked a both at the West Hollywood Bookfair. Left the house at around 7:30 to be in WeHo by 8ish. Of course the transition from the 110 to the 101 was closed (*&^%^%&^(*&() so I had to detour through downtown. That was, however, the only black spot on an otherwise great day. Got to see Eden Bradly, Will Belagon and Stephanie Vaughn there. Although Will and I’ve talked many a time and known each other on-line for a good three years, we’d never managed to connect before. Was introduced to some new faces I’ve “met” on-line: Jax Reily, Lillian Fiesty, half of Jade Falconer.

The booth I worked sat right next to a Different Light Bookstore, so I got to watch eye-candy throughout the day. A parade of gorgeous men past my booth. Yum. Particularly, one fine Latino gym rat. He had one of those bodies that said, I work at a book store so I can pay my membership at the gym and work out the rest of the day. Tight pants, shirt that hung open most of the day. Dear God, he had divots going down into his jeans. Not body-builder muscular, just really, really tight and toned. Thick black hair cropped neck length. A pencil thin mustache and hard dark eyes.

You bet your sweet bippy he's going in a story some day.

My friend Mike Schinifelt (journalist for Men/Freshmen/Unzipped) came by and hung out for a bit. He invited me to go with him to the season opening party/premier for Dante’s Cove (the GLBT version of Dante’s Peak). Jay Lygon's friend Tom dropped by on and off, often to steal a smoke buddy. He had two protégés with him. Very nice, very young men. Steve Pride, who does a weekly syndicated radio show called THIS WAY OUT and one for LA based station KPFK 90,7 FM called IMRU, stopped by. Later he suggested I come on the show. Hell Yeah!

More eye candy paraded by. The West Hollywood cheerleaders, buffed bodies in little cheerleader dresses. Those boiz were smoking. Another set running around in nothing pink hotpants and little pill box hats passing out popcorn. Had to drop by and visit Will, Eden and crew... they were right next to the Stockroom and across from Thom of Finland foundation. The guy there. Different type but so nice. Older, hard, lean body. Shitless, denim shorts and combat boots. Peircings in his ear.

By the end of the day I was beat. Tom and his boys showed up again. Got to talking to one young man. In college, very cute, was talking about going up to the Folsom Leather fest one day in Chaps and such. Jay and I teased him that he’d end up on a leash with bit in his mouth being led around by some big, burly bear. Then he asked about the rope bondage thing and I think I scared him a little. I get kinda passionate about the whole tying people up thing. And leg spreaders in my luggage and shit like that. It was so cute to see him giggle and his dark eyes grow so big.

Eye Candy, gotta love Metro Hell for it.

Writing While Under the Influence

The last month has sucked. And not in a good way :) Aside from my entire family having the stomach flu and then my mother's heart attack, and then three of my kids having croup and/or asthma trouble, I had...a toothache. Fabulous. So I go to the dentist after I don't know how many years (save yourself the trouble and go twice a year, huh?) and besides a couple of small cavities, they just need a good cleaning. A really good cleaning. As in, let's do one half at a time. So I get the one side done--the side that was bothering me. No sweat. Except two weeks later I'm in tears because the damn tooth hurts so BAD. I go back. They don't see anything wrong so maybe I should see an endodontist. I get sent home with penicillin and a heavy duty pain pill. :) :) :) I even welcomed the shot because it deadened the nerve affecting the entire right side of my face. But alas, not even the heavy duty pain killer is enough to totally kill the pain. It does however, make for some very comical writing on my part! I'm not sure what'll come out about my female werewolf and her human mate or where they've ended up having sex. I haven't the foggiest notion exactly what I've been writing for the last two days, LOL. It'll be interesting to see where my h/h go. To bed for sure since that's where I've spent most of the last two days. Tomorrow is the root canal. They tell me it'll be like getting a splinter out. As soon as it's done, the tooth will be tender for a few days then good as new. Yeah. Right. That's what you told me the cleaning would do. So what's next? Complete tooth extraction? Or maybe you should just remove finger. Without anesthesia. Then maybe I'll be more concerned about the pain in my hand and won't notice the pain in my face.

Happy hump day,
Annmarie
