Team Writers

As much as the Hollywood writers' strike pains me as a TV junkie, I'm firmly on board with the WGA. Writers are only asking for what they deserve from studios that make huge profits. As an e-book writer, I make a percentage of every book that's purchased and downloaded. TV and movie writers are simply asking for the same treatment. Internet downloads are clearly the future of media consumption, and for the studios to shut the writers out of the residuals they deserve is ridiculous.

Jon Stewart hits the nail on the head, as usual. The studios wouldn't have revenue-generating website content if it weren't for writers.

I thought this diary of a striking writer was also very interesting. The long-term gain for the writers will certainly come with a truckload of short-term pain.
